Long Term Residential Programs

At 21st Century Living Services, we believe in individualized care.  Each of our clients is a unique person.  The circumstances surrounding their brain injury and the needs that injury creates are also unique.  It’s important to note that an individual’s length of treatment is also dependent on not only that person’s disabilities, but also the speed with which they are able to advance through the treatments.  There is no set length of time for a brain injured person in our care, but rather our care and the duration of stay are determined by the individual and their situation.

For this reason, 21st Century Living Services also provides Long Term Residential Programs.  They are also community based with 24 hour supervision and care provided for the individual survivor.  The program focuses on continuing to move these survivors to their maximum independent potential within the community.  The program emphasizes things like improving life skills, budgeting, meal planning, and various other every day living tasks.

Attendance in our day program is a component of the long term care program.  These brain injured survivors, although not usually employable, need the continued repetitive stimulation of the day treatment programs to improve their quality of life.  All individuals are encouraged to develop social relationships and participate in work and volunteer activities in the community.  We also strive for the individual’s participation in an activity or organization of their individual preference whenever possible.
